The Purpose of this awards program is to recognize outstanding examples of concrete excellence in structural and architectural concrete, including excellence in pre-cast, cast-in-place, and masonry concrete construction, as well as unusual use of concrete and concrete producing materials.
Overall judging criteria will include design, workmanship, creativity, functionality, technical innovation, economy and problem solving. The Arizona Chapter – ACI recognizes the professionalism and expertise of the individual jurors. AZ Chapter – ACI encourages and supports the jury’s discretion in its choice of projects.
Eligibility
1. Concrete or concrete products must be the
predominant component highlighted.
2. Projects must be completed between January 1, 2009 and January 1, 2014. (Concrete portion must be
complete and the project itself should be
substantially completed by this date)
3. Projects must be located within the state of
Arizona.
4. Projects must be new construction,
re-construction, restoration or repair.
5. There is no limit to the number of projects
entered per company or per category.
Registration
1. Registration fee is $75 per entry/per category ($50 per entry/per category if more than 5 entries/categories)
2. Complete the registration form with your payment.
3. Registration form must be received no later than February 7, 2014.
Upon receipt of the registration form, the entrant will receive an official entry packet. Submittals are due back to the ACI office no later than March 7, 2014.
Awards will be given to the owner, architect of record, engineer of record, general contractor, major concrete supplier and the concrete contractor. Please make sure to list all companies that apply on submittal.
Presentation of awards will take place April 11, 2014 at the
Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino.
Entry Format
Entry should include the following:
1. Full description of project demonstrating how concrete and/or concrete products were used in the element of design.
2. Six to ten images to include special concrete details and an overall view of the project.
3. All photographs need to be presented in a digital format. Photographs should be no less than 1200 x 1500 pixels (8x10 at 150 resolution), in a tif or jpeg format and supplied on a flashdrive.
4. One 8 x 10 photograph – (please no photo copies)
5. Site plan, floor plan.
