Workers Compensation claims affect the pocketbook of both the company and the employee. This presentation will not be a discussion about insurance, but about money. We will focus on how a culture of safety and the post-injury light-duty work program of an organization directly effects the company's bottom line.
About our speakers:
Jo Piña is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Risk Control Consultant at USI Insurance Services. Her responsibilities included developing and leading behavior based safety programs, conducting risk audits, developing job safety assessments/job hazard analyses, partnering with management on incident investigations and near miss campaigns, driving a zero-accident safety culture, leading emergency preparedness and response training, and arc flash safety. Jo maintains a strong understanding of OSHA’s General Industry and Construction standards. Before joining USI, Jo was a safety manager of a large manufacturer.
Nick Baxter has been in the concrete industry all his life. His father owned one of the largest commercial concrete construction company in the Northwest. He graduated from ASU with a bachelor's degree in Construction Management with an emphasis in Concrete Industry Management. He works for USI Insurance Services as a Commercial Lines Sales Consultant.
