Clearing the Air on the new OSHA
 Respirable Crystalline Silica Dust Regulation

Presented by: James Walsh, Hilti North America

OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1153 went into effect in June 2016 and will require full compliance on June 23rd, 2017.  With this change, there are new standards with which industry professionals will be required to comply.  Simplifying a complex government-issued standard is no easy task.  To assist us in the process, we facilitated a recent forum with our top customers, industry regulators and other industry experts. Participants of the workshop met in August and the end result was a white paper on the topic.  The purpose of this document is to summarize the key points contained in the extensive standard released by OSHA.  The presentation will be a review of the white paper and help educate all attendees on these new standards as well as provide an overview of the different solutions and how they fit into the new OSHA code.  The Hilti team will also be on site showcasing Table 1 compliant products and solutions before and after the presentation.  All attendees are encouraged to take time to check it out!

About our Speaker:  James Walsh is originally from upstate New York and has been with Hilti for over 6 years.  James is currently working as a Product Manager for all of the corded power tools.  James is part of the Hilti dust response team which is a cross-functional team dedicated to providing the content for education and understanding of not only Hilti products and solutions but also the regulations and their impact on the customer.
