"Things to Learn Before Leaving School"

Presented by:  Richard S Szecsy, PhD, PE, FACI

President Texas Aggregates & Concrete Association

As the need and demand for more sustainable materials and construction methods increase, a gap conflict is growing.  The traditional concrete design methodologies that have been used for almost a century, are now in a situation where they are being challenged by the new demands within the marketplace.  This has created a conflict with the concrete design, supply, and contracting community.  This presentation will explore those conflicts, the challenges and some solutions.

About the Speaker:  Mr. Szecsy has worked internationally as a technical expert, former department head at a university and Business Development for a $4B ready mix and aggregates company.  He is widely recognized as a national expert in the areas of concrete technologies, recycled materials, concrete construction and concrete sustainability and resiliency.  He has a B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M, a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering form the University of Illinois and an MBA from Our Lady of the Lake University.  Registered as a professional engineer in TX, OK, AZ, AR, and LA.
